The Wine
Visually bright, it glistens like pink diamond. Cherry lip gloss, strawberries, and vanilla cream on the nose, lead to a palate that is dry and textural, with flavours of quince, red berries and an umeboshi plum umaminess. Organically grown and made, NASAA certified Organic In Conversion.
Serve chilled
Alcohol 12.5%

The Winemaking
This rosé is grown with the intention of making a rosé.
Hand-made at the CRFT Carey Gully winery.
Harvested 23^rd February 2024.
Short cold-soak then pressed and wild fermented cool and slow in stainless steel on full solids. Lees stirring for texture and mouthfeel. Full wild malo-lactic fermentation. Unoaked.
Bottled June 2023. Vegan friendly.

The Vineyard
Formerly the ‘Rohrlach Vineyard’ and newly named the ‘Wild South Vineyard’, our Mencía is grown by Matthew Rohrlach and his family in Williamstown (also the home of our old vine Shiraz). This wine is the sibling to our red Mencía made from the same grapes. 

The vineyard is located on the southern fringe of the Barossa Valley wine region, just a couple kilometres from the boundary of the Adelaide Hills wine region.

The Wild South Vineyard has fully converted to organic and regenerative farming practices from 2021, with the 2024 vintage grapes certified Organic In Conversion (the final year before full certification is achieved).
