”Gentle copper colour, alluding to the grayish pink hue of the berries. Enticing aromas of peach pith, rosewater and cedar to creamy vanillins, evidence of the smart oak handling. What I like best about this wine is the thrilling structure, from the oak tannins, the juicy freshness, reductive edge and the oatmeal leesiness that is turned to just the right notch. This is an immensely sophisticated, mid-weighted wine, deserved of some mid-term ageing. Organic. Drinkable now, but better after 2027. “

The Wine
The colour shines like rose-gold.

It has a nose that lights up like the whole lolly-shop... Peaches and creams and wine gums (the NZ type), but then it evolves into other delights of vanilla, guava and fresh herbs!

The creamy palate has a texture like biting into short-bread. The acidity and tannins leave the finish refreshing and delicious.

Drink or cellar 2034+. A young wine at release, it will benefit immensely from time in bottle to develop and soften with age.

Suggested serving temperature 10-14C.
Alc 13.0%.

Winemaking
Harvested 31st March 2022 and hand-made at CRFT Carey Gully winery. Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed then wild fermented in oak on full solids. Matured for 17 months in older neutral French oak, unsulphured and on full solids. Occasional lees stirring. Partial wild malo-lactic fermentation. 100% natural acidity. SO2 added just prior to bottling. Bottled Sept 2023. Vegan friendly. Extremely limited quantity available.

Arranmore Vineyard
Estate-owned, managed and farmed, the 5-acre Arranmore Vineyard has been farmed organically since Frewin & Candice took ownership in January 2016.
