Estate-owned, managed and farmed, the 5-acre Arranmore Vineyard planted from 1995- 1998, is situated at Carey Gully in the Piccadilly Valley (Adelaide Hills).
The Arranmore Vineyard has been farmed organically since January 2016 and will undergo the process to become NASAA Certified Organic in 2018.
The vineyard is East facing and sits at 550 meters above sea level.
Pinot Noir / Chardonnay / Sauvignon Blanc. Each variety hand-picked separately. The whites gently destemmed, the Pinot Noir whole bunch pressed. All three varieties combined on full solids in an open-top and co-fermented on Chardonnay and Sauv Blanc skins.
Wild fermented dry on skins, then pressed and transferred to barrel.
100% older used oak, 100% French oak, 6 months in barrel.
Lees stirred in oak for a few months with full MLF. Wine remained on full lees until racked before bottling.
Unfined and unfiltered. Small SO2 addition pre-bottling, no other additions. Bottled October 2017, 48 dozen.
2017 is the first release of The White.
We love this girl for ever-evolving personality. Strawberries, wild herbs and green mango, savoury and flinty, floral and lifted, it’s all about the texture and fruit.
Ready to drink at release, can be cellared for up to 5 years.
